Learn MoreIn the UK, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. When the world was hit by the COVID-19 crisis, the CQC sped up its deployment of a Blue Prism digital workforce to provide timely and accurate statutory death notifications to the UK government.
When death notifications are submitted, digital workers use OCR technology to read and process the data. Once this data has been gathered, it is then analyzed by CQC Intelligence staff, who report this government officials, ensuring they have the latest information. The digital workforce continues to help the CQC deploy resources to support COVID-19-related inquiries and notification forms during new waves, while also enabling health and care services teams to provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care.
The CQC aims to implement a bold new strategy over the next five years, which will drive improvements in health and care services and help the Commission provide the public a safer future. To that end, the CQC is introducing innovative technology to make this strategy a reality, including the deployment of intelligent automation to increase back-office efficiency.
To date, the Blue Prism digital workforce has helped the CQC:
• Save 115 hours per week
• Increase data quality from health and care providers
• Deploy resources to high-priority areas

Learn MoreDuring the COVID-19 crisis, front-line staff at this County Council in the UK have become more stretched than ever in their capacity to continue to deliver key services to the people we serve. The impact can be seen across many services the Council provides, but one in particular, the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team are seeing an uptick in requests for prepaid cards that enable families of children with additional needs to buy equipment and fund educational and fun activities. The administration associated with this process is time consuming, as each transaction—up to 2,000 per month—must be audited to verify that the spend is compliant and not with a prohibited supplier. If the transaction requires clarification from the cardholder, then a letter and email are sent out. The Blue Prism Cloud team is now assisting the Council with automating these processes to free up the Council’s SEND team to support other COVID-19 front line response roles.

Learn MoreAustralia’s fifth largest bank sought assistance to enable bulk processing of automation tasks as workloads have increased exponentially due to the volume of hardship requests from customers and businesses related to COVID-19, as well as an increase in dishonored payments that need processing. The bank also needs to take pre-emptive measures to deal with potential bank closures and key personnel risks, as well as putting risk mitigation steps in place for customers such as issuing 180,000 debit cards to passbook account holders to ensure access to funds in the event of branch closures. Other automations include processing Dishonor Management records of approximately $60K per month and about 100,000 Direct Debit cancellation requests per month related to COVID-19.

Learn MoreTo support the heavy demand associated with the COVID-19 pandemic—the largest diagnostic medicine company in Brazil and Latin America with more than 30 brands that are a part of this conglomerate of labs for clinical analysis—has shifted its people from current tasks like sustaining products, to developing new tele-health and other related solutions. Leveraging Digital Workers, they’ve built a database of people with COVID-19 symptoms that need to be monitored for potential hospitalization or other treatment.
