Blue Prism World New York 2017: RPA Event of the Year

On June 7, Blue Prism held its annual user conference drawing more than 550 attendees to help claim the streets of Manhattan. Our customers and partners joined us to share their stories helping to highlight some of the most innovative use cases for RPA in our industry.

We started the day with several keynotes from our executives, customers and partners. Blue Prism CTO Dave Moss unveiled Version 6.0 of Blue Prism’s enterprise RPA platform, and each presentation from the first-movers and industry visionaries discussed a different aspect of the RPA landscape—from the firsthand and academic experiences of companies leading the charge to the importance of having agreed-upon definitions as the industry takes shape. The speakers included:

  • Jon Theuerkauf, managing director and group head of performance excellence at BNY Mellon
  • Ann Delmedico, vice president of Prudential Financials’ RPA Center of Excellence (see right)
  • J. Hanna, executive director of professional services at Ascension and Ministry Service Center
  • Mary C. Lacity, professor of information systems at the University of Missouri and visiting scholar at MIT Center of Information Systems Research

The afternoon was devoted to the partners and customers. Customers—including Williams Martini Racing, Western Union, Pfizer, IBM and MetLife—took the stage to discuss the successes and issues they’ve experienced in their RPA deployments, including cost savings, greater efficiency and increased business development. In a separate track, our partners—including Symphony Ventures, Digital Workforce, EY, WonderBotz, Ascension, Accenture and Solai & Cameron, to name a few—staffed booths in the main hall for attendees to ask questions, see demos and learn more about the digital transformation. We were also excited to honor the first six of our partners certified as Authorized Training Partners.

The evening closed out with a final panel of Blue Prism executives and the Blue Prism Awards Ceremony, honoring the remarkable work of our partners and customers in North America. The 2017 winners are:

  • BNY Mellon, for Best Use of Blue Prism to Deliver Business Value, honoring their use of Blue Prism to deliver outstanding business benefits including greater ROI, an improved customer experience, top-line growth, mitigated risks, increased customer retention, etc. Prudential earned an Honorable Mention in this category.
  • AMEX, for Best Enterprise Implementation of Blue Prism RPA, honoring its best practice approach and implementation of Blue Prism RPA. This award assesses numerous criteria including speed of deployment, buy in from key stakeholders in both business and IT, design and implementation, as well as technical infrastructure and delivery methodology.
  • The Lighthouse Works, for Most Innovative Use of Blue Prism RPA, awarded to the team that used Blue Prism in conjunction with other technologies, including AI, cognitive and cloud capabilities, to drive digital transformation and embed artificial intelligence within their organization. A nonprofit working to empower sight-challenged individuals through employment, Lighthouse Works uses RPA to allow those individuals to execute end-to-end processes that otherwise would have been impossible or extremely challenging.

  • Ascension, for Authorized Training Partner of the Year
  • Accenture, for Global Reach & Investment, offering the largest digital workforce capability and accredited resources worldwide
  • EY, for Global Delivery & Excellence
