This fifth paper from Knowledge Capital Partners (KCP) analyzes how mature RPA customers (two years or more working with the software) are looking to move beyond operational excellence to continuous innovation. The findings of this report show how leading organizations are looking to innovate nonstop, on all fronts, and not just in technology. It outlines how integrating RPA with, and drawing upon emerging cognitive technologies has become a way of future-proofing the automation of mission critical tasks. Other key learnings include;
- Integrating cognitive automation (CA) initiatives with RPA is vital to the success of any long-term project. Organizations realize that both RPA and CA realms enable new business strategies; together they can complement and magnify value.
- As organizations grapple to embrace newer technologies and deliver on ever-changing business demands, mature RPA users are looking to fit into and support a broader digitalization agenda. This requires upgrading the Center of Excellence to become what KCP calls a Center of Enablement.
- Increasingly, organizations will create competitive advantage by connecting various technology innovations such as Social media, Mobile technologies, Analytics/Big Data, Cloud services, Blockchains, Robotics, Automation of knowledge work (like RPA and CA), the Internet-of-Things, and Digital Fabrication (i.e., 3-D printing), which KCP calls SMAC/BRAID, for service delivery.
