Increased R&D spend drives innovative digital worker capabilities
Artificial intelligence (AI)-driven intelligent document processing, a process-capture platform and a contact center automation solution are just a few of the innovations we’ve delivered in the last 8 months, and during a pandemic!
We know that—especially in times of crisis—businesses need to quickly address evolving business demands, customer and employee satisfaction, resource constraints, technology complexity, and more. So, 2020 was an opportune time to make a significant investment in the development and delivery of best-in-class AI capabilities and tools to empower your digital workforce.
A roadmap of innovation
September served as the start of our innovation drum beat with the launch of Decipher IDP, one of the first AI-driven capabilities we’ve developed for the Blue Prism platform. Decipher IDP puts the power of optical character recognition and machine learning (ML) in your hands so you can validate and extract data from structured and semi-structured documents, such as invoices, purchase orders, and other typed forms. As a result, you can improve productivity and return hours of work back to your business.
On the heels of Decipher, Blue Prism Interact was launched taking attended automation and citizen development to a new level of accessibility and sophistication. With Interact, we extended the core enterprise platform to accelerate and simplify real-time interactions between humans and digital workers.
With businesses struggling to manage remote agents and address increasing customer contact center demands, Service Assist was the next logical solution to bring to market. Featuring a business-led, front end and an IT-governed, backend, Service Assist offers contact center teams increased functionality and security while significantly reducing Average Handling Times and improving First Call Resolution.
Following Service Assist and taking into consideration that 77% of all global financial transactions touch an SAP system, we launched Blue Prism® Accelerators for use with SAP® ERP. Now you can accelerate operations and migrations for both ECC and S/4HANA, significantly reducing costs and increasing efficiencies.
Beyond tailored solutions, we also added new tools to help you accelerate, manage, and scale your automation projects. With the introduction of the Automation Lifecycle Suite, which includes Automation Lifecycle Management (ALM), Process Assessment Tool (PAT), and Capture, it’s easier to identify, deploy and scale automation while reducing the typical planning and design time by 70% and delivering more value from your digital workforce. In fact, with our latest version of Capture, users are experiencing reduced time-to-automation of up to 25% by instantly turning process definition documents (PDDs) into Blue Prism automation outlines.
“The promise of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is all about speed and agility, but organizations can struggle to deliver at scale,” says Neil Ward-Dutton, VP of AI and Intelligent Process Automation Practices, IDC Europe.” Tools that help teams streamline and govern the lifecycle of automation delivery are crucial to delivering automation programs at scale with consistent quality while keeping the core promise of RPA.”
Intelligent automation in the cloud
Bringing our customers’ digital transformation strategies to life also includes the flexibility to use Blue Prism on the cloud of their choice and offer easy access to critical AI and ML technologies.
Our cloud-first intelligent automation strategy encompasses Blue Prism Cloud—our fully-managed, SaaS-delivered automation platform—as well as extensive and expanded cloud provider partner relationships that help our customers do more and scale faster.
We ended 2020 with the news that our customers can now purchase Blue Prism directly from AWS Marketplace and immediately spin up digital workers with select, pre-loaded AWS ML technologies to start, or expand, their automation journey in the cloud. This offer includes a set number of Blue Prism digital workers on an Amazon Machine Image, plus native integrations for Amazon Textract, Amazon Rekognition, and Amazon Comprehend ML capabilities.
In January 2021, we also announced a new offering of Blue Prism on Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace, as well as on AppSource. This new “Bring Your Own License” (BYOL) offering is pre-loaded with select Azure Cognitive Services, including Azure Text Analytics, Azure Form Recognizer and Azure Computer Vision, all of which customers can license directly through Microsoft.
With significant R&D investment and a world-renowned engineering team, we continue to deliver on the promise of a smart, secure, scalable and successful digital workforce. And with one Blue Prism license, you gain instant access to an AI-equipped digital workforce, along with the tools you need to build and extend automations across your enterprise.
