It’s great to be positioned as a global leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), in Gartner’s first Magic Quadrant assessing the technology. This evaluation of our intelligent Digital Workforce is based on the ability to execute, and our completeness of vision. According to Gartner, to be recognized in the Leaders quadrant, vendors must execute well against their current vision, be well positioned for tomorrow, and have built their reputation through thousands of existing customers. We believe that we set the standard in all these criteria, read on to see how we’re raising the bar even higher.

Blue Prism are positioned in the leader’s quadrant where we’re cited for having leading strengths in scalability, our partner ecosystem, and vertical / industry strategy - which we continue to invest heavily in.

Our Vision in Action

Since we pioneered enterprise RPA software over 17 years ago, it’s still exciting to be an RPA industry leader, but with that comes the responsibility of driving an industry-leading vision too. Our connected-RPA vision which we announced at the beginning of the year is about people. It provides an exciting, new era of collaborative technology innovation - led by digitally savvy, business users – enabled by code-optional, open, intelligent, business automation. This is achieved by providing users with the ability to easily access and exploit leading-edge cloud, AI, cognitive, and other capabilities, through drag and drop, intelligent automation skills. This enables them to be more productive and innovative and to keep pace with ever-changing technology shifts, market demand and threats from competitors.

An Intelligent Acquisition

Our recent announcement to acquire Thoughtonomy supports a broader strategy to strengthen our portfolio with cloud offerings that deliver value, choice, and enhanced customer experience. Thoughtonomy brings valuable knowledge and technical acumen to the development and implementation of cloud-based intelligent digital workers, with a successful track record delivering its solutions to mid-tier enterprises across industry verticals complementary to the areas of the market that we serve.

This acquisition will also extend the capabilities of our unique, digital exchange, which is an intelligent automation marketplace comprising of value-added customers, technology and channel partners. It also assists with our delivery of connected-RPA services with leading cloud partners such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google and IBM.

A Digital Workforce at Scale

Connected-RPA is successfully operating in large scale, demanding, enterprise environments – enabling strategic, business-led, change. Our 1,300, enterprise-level customers will confirm that we’re executing well, as our software is playing an increasingly significant role in positively transforming the efficiency and productivity of their workplace operations – across the globe.

In fact, how these organizations are already using connected-RPA is remarkable and groundbreaking. Not only is this technology being used as a catalyst for organizations to enhance business operations, but to reinvent themselves too – making them highly competitive within the markets they serve. What’s also really heartening is that these organizations have happier staff, as they’re being freed to re-focus on more value-added tasks.

For example, a US-based utility company is using connected-RPA for its process automation across customer service, finance, human resources, information technology services and electric and gas operations. The company has saved approximately 250,000 business hours on an annualized basis. It’s also developed an innovative, fraud detection and prevention application – using connected-RPA and advanced machine learning tools.

This is resulting in a near 100% detection of potential fraud cases for handling by human investigators. This value couldn’t have been captured by human detection, due to the substantial cost. The company expects this combined solution to result in savings greater than $3 million each year in lost revenue.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, connected-RPA is rapidly becoming the gold standard for global organizations who are seeking a strategic approach to enabling major, enterprise-wide, digital transformation. This new wave of connected-RPA is also about having both human and digital workers collaborate together, while seamlessly interacting with existing and new applications. This creates a powerful, intelligent, collaborative and unified workforce to spawn innovation - which is the essence of connected-RPA and the foundation of the future workforce. I can’t think of a greater vision than that.
