The international retail industry has experienced both significant turmoil and exciting new opportunities in recent years. Retailers have had little choice but to adopt new operating models that harness the power of technology to meet changing customer demands, including a huge shift to online, rather than in-store, shopping.
While the hope is that 2022 will see a return to more normal shopping behavior, there’s a long way to go before we are back to business as usual. The retailers that succeed in such an unpredictable environment will be those that can react quickly and efficiently to short- and medium-term trends, adapting both internal and customer-facing processes.
