Your Opportunity

Working within the Education Services department you will take responsibility for the planning, creation, maintenance and localization of a range of digital training materials - which may take the form of guides, illustrations, animated videos or interactive resources, for distribution to a global audience. You will support the maintenance of a high-performing Instructional Design Team, through upskilling and mentoring of self and others. You will also contribute to curriculum development for product training.

The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for developing high-quality printed resources, video and interactive training materials that drive immediate results.

  • Support the ongoing success of the Blue Prism University, through the creation of high-quality content and delivery, that enhances retention and transfer
  • Develop course storyboards that clearly outline content flow, interaction, use cases/scenarios, summary and retention elements
  • Design and develop video, simulation, guides or interactive online courseware, working through an iterative methodology and using rapid eLearning authoring tools
  • Contribute to the evolving development of specified best practice - including which tools, methods and file management processes are used
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Contribute to curriculum development for product-focused digital and instructor-led education offerings across the globe
  • Take responsibility for designated instructional design projects from planning to delivery, ensuring learning outcomes and delivery reflect strategic objectives of Education Services and the wider business
  • Work diligently with SMEs to synthesize highly technical and complex content, targeted to the needs of the audience.
  • Support maintenance of high-performing Instructional Design Team through upskilling and mentoring of self and others.
  • Use the Blue Prism LMS and Portal to setup and test learning programs and pull reports.
  • Proactively provide innovative/creative problem solving to meet the needs of the business in a fast-changing environment.
  • Research learning trends and technologies to support growth of educational Services and team members
  • Become a proactive member of the Design Authority

  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify learning outcomes that map to strategic objectives of Education Services and the wider business.
  • Systematic approach to design workflows that reflects technical best practice.
  • Ability to identify and deliver upskilling opportunities in others and strong mentoring skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models and best practice
  • Proficient with a variety of eLearning development tools, course authoring tools and graphic/video editing tools.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and take responsibility for multiple projects with various degrees of complexity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively influencing and working with both business and technical audiences.
  • Analytical, innovative, creative thinker that is comfortable researching, testing and deploying new solutions, technologies, systems or processes.
  • Willingness and appetite to learn how to navigate and setup configurations with the Blue Prism software.
  • At least three years proven working experience in instructional design or creative digital industries.
  • Experience in project management.Experience of technical/software training design and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of teaching and learning theory, with experience of coaching others and teaching in classrooms and/or via digital means.
  • Established visual design skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates a broad variety of techniques and applications.
  • Proficient with a variety of creative software applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
