Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Thailand’s oldest financial institution, had a vision to completely transform the bank and deliver higher productivity by 2020 with several multi-year innovative projects. SCB thoughtfully organized a centralized Center of Excellence, utilizing the Robotic Operating Model, and merged teams from Operational Excellence and Transformation to create a team with expertise and the ability to scale. SCB overhauled its’ process discovery which resulted in a better understanding of benefits and the automation backlog. 

Innovative Value Delivered with ATM Error Process Automation

One process was exceptionally successful and innovative. When an error occurs at an ATM, multiple digital workers work to resolve the issue for the customer. The first digital worker checks the ATM log and validates the customer’s transaction, the next one is responsible for issuing a refund, and the last one is responsible for depositing the refund in the customer’s account. This complex maneuver takes a total of five minutes and was achieved through agile collaboration between the call center, operations, and finance teams.
